A Fairytale Experience at The Kentucky Castle in Versailles: Where Dreams Come True

In the heart of Kentucky, amidst rolling hills and picturesque landscapes, stands an enchanting structure that seems to have been plucked right out of a fairytale book - The Kentucky Castle. This architectural gem, situated in the charming town of Versailles, not only boasts a rich history but also offers an array of magical experiences, including the opportunity to hire a real princess to surprise your birthday girl, making it a destination like no other.

A Castle Steeped in History

The Kentucky Castle, previously known as Castle Post and Martin Castle, is a historic 110-acre estate near Lexington in Versailles, Kentucky. Built by Rex Martin and Caroline Bogaert Martin starting in 1969, construction faced setbacks and was eventually halted in 1975 due to their divorce. The castle became a roadside attraction for 30 years until it was sold to Thomas R. Post in 2003. Renovations began but a fire in 2004 destroyed much of it. Reconstruction finished in 2007, turning it into a bed & breakfast. It was renamed The Kentucky Castle in 2017 and now offers boutique accommodations, farm-to-table dining, and event spaces. Experience its history through guided tours.

The castle's grandeur is immediately evident as you approach its majestic façade. Towering turrets, intricate stonework, and an entrance fit for a queen transport visitors to a world of fantasy and elegance. The interiors are equally mesmerizing, featuring luxurious accommodations, dining areas, event spaces, and even a working farm that supplies the castle's restaurants with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Taking full advantage of our time at The Kentucky Castle, we called Memory Laine to come to our Tower Suite to surprise our daughter for a belated birthday present. Memory Laine is a fun-themed and family-operated kids entertainment company. All of the actors and actresses at Memory Laine adore children and their goal is to make children’s dreams come true with dress up characters, balloons, and face painting.

Laine’s ability to stay in character will leave you scratching your head in disbelief wondering if she really is a princess.
