Just an hour away from Lexington, escape to Red River Gorge and become one with nature, or with each other. This secluded spot in the mountains, an Airbnb rental aptly named Seclusion, truly lives up to its name and provides a luxurious way to escape without roughing it.

Located on a gravel drive on top of a mountain with a paved road leading up to the top, it’s best if you get there with a 4-wheel-drive vehicle. The terrain may make it slightly more challenging if the weather is inclement. Get there how you can, for it’s worth the effort.

This custom-made, hand-crafted cabin features a spectacular treehouse room, observation tower, and other ways to gawk at the natural landscape. Out in the middle of the wild, the surroundings are rustic, though the interior won’t leave you roughing it. We loved how the two rooms were separated, making this a perfect getaway rental even for two couples because it offers so much privacy. It’s a truly unique design that is fantastic for gathering yet stealing away for those private moments alone.

Oh, and there’s also a koi pond if you get tired of looking out from the observatory tower. A hot tub affords you the chance to soak in scenic seclusion while new appliances, hand-built furniture, and a massive walk-in shower put you straight in the lap of luxury. Outside, you’re treated to plentiful outdoor seating space and have access to the full two acres of property that makes it easy to relax and refresh in nature.

Don’t just take our word

Seclusion receives rave reviews from visitors who seek tranquility and privacy in an idyllic setting. This hidden gem provides the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Seclusion ensures a truly memorable and secluded getaway for those seeking solace and rejuvenation. Whether it's a romantic weekend retreat or a peaceful solo adventure, this enchanting cabin meets and exceeds the expectations of even the most discerning travelers.

But should you get all this way and realize you didn’t pack enough food, head to the Daniel Boone Trading Post to stock up. It’s a great place to pick up wine, beer, bourbon, coffee, and food before you make your way up the mountain.

If you love coffee in the morning, make sure you get some at this store so you can brew, sip, and savor that precious java while blessing your eyes with the 360-degree views of nature.

Even if you’re not keen on coffee, there’s plenty of tea or delicious homemade chai lattes. You can also grab prepared breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, or homemade baked goods for instant gratification. Put that crock pot and that grill to good use with steaks, burgers, chicken, and other foods. The meats all come from nearby local farms, plus if you want something special to remember your getaway to Red River Gorge, this cute little store has hand-crafted souvenirs that are perfect.

With all those appliances including a crock pot and a small Weber charcoal grill outdoors, you’ll want to stock the fridge when you arrive. In fact, don’t head up the mountain without packing up enough food and drinks for your stay. Once up in Seclusion, it’s much harder to run out to get something.
