Gary Brewer & the Kentucky Ramblers Keep History Alive

Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers

About The Ramblers

A family band with roots dating back six generations, Gary Brewer & the Kentucky Ramblers (GBKR) have been on the road performing since before George Strait. Formed in 1980, the band has played onstage in all 50 states, Canada and Europe. Gary Brewer, his two sons, Wayne and Mason, and their banjo player, Cody Pearman, perform their unique sound today.

Lead guitarist and vocalist Gary Brewer is over four decades into his career and currently experiencing a revival following the release of their 2020 album, 40th Anniversary Celebration. The album was a massive success on the Billboard charts and spent an astonishing 16 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums Chart. Overall it was the No. 3 best-selling project in 2021 (only behind Sturgill Simpson projects) and was followed by an innovative tour that saw the group successfully navigate the pandemic era.

Coming in hot to 2022, they released their single, "Pass Along The Good," co-written with multi-GRAMMY award-winning Americana Music Icon Jim Lauderdale. The melody won No. 1 on the Global Radio Indicator Americana/Grassicana chart as the top-played track of the entire month of January 2022. In addition, the hit received heavy rotation on Sirius XM's Outlaw Country alongside Tyler Childers, Cody Jinks, Orville Peck, Margo Price, Whiskey Myers, Old Crow Medicine Show, and much more.

Brewgrass

"Brewgrass," coined by the Kentucky Ramblers themselves, is a fusion of American-roots style music. The genre is a mixture of Bluegrass, Country, and Rock. Gary Brewer started playing music professionally as a teen growing up in Kentucky, surrounded by family musicians and old-time mountain music, which inspired the music genre.

Gary decided to use the proceeds from their best-selling 40th-anniversary project to build a professional-grade recording studio, Brewgrass Entertainment Studio, on their family farm. A longtime dream, the personal studio for the band has always been eagerly anticipated by Gary since he started many years ago, as he has been collecting vintage microphones and outboard gear for a while with this goal in mind. With a studio at their disposal, Gary plans to re-record some older band material and continue churning out the No.1 new hits.

Headlining at Bourbon & Beyond

GBKR headlined the Bluegrass Situation stage at the world's largest music & bourbon festival, Bourbon & Beyond, this past September, and we had the pleasure of sitting down and getting to know them a little better. Like their music, their style is incomparable, surprising the audience with various performing outfits. The group comes decked out in sequins head-to-toe and is impossible to miss on or offstage.
